Jane Marie (Best) Biernath

Jane Marie Biernath, 78, of Brighton, IL - formerly of Staunton, IL, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, IL.  She was born December 5, 1947 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of the late Riley J. & Patricia (Self) Best.  She married Charles J. Biernath on September 5, 1970 at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL & he passed away July 22, 1997.

Jane was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, IL, & enjoyed crocheting & spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons -  Scott Biernath of Sikeston, MO,  &  Jon Biernath of Brighton, IL;  three grandchildren;  three great grandchildren;  one sister -  Nancy (Raye) Derickson of Imperial, MO;  two brothers -  Dennis (Arlene) Best of Oak Grove, MO,  &  Timothy (Jan) Best of Carlinville, IL;  & numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins also survive.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Staunton City Cemetery in Staunton, IL.

Memorials are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House in St. Louis, MO.
